Continuing a Legacy

Luvie Johnson Thomas was born on May 10, 1899, in Beulah, Mississippi, to William Fisher Johnson and Fathia Jackson Johnson. She lived a long life until January 1, 1990. Together with her husband, Albert Thomas, Luvie successfully raised their eight children. My Great Grandmother was a well disciplined woman that did not tolerate any kind of non sense nor laziness. We always got along just fine. Is remember her always allowing me to throw crayons and small toy soldiers into the fireplace. It was kind is a reward for helping her to keep the kitchen clean. Lol!  Despite her busy life, she found time to enjoy fishing from her boat and crafting Elderberry Wine, a favorite among her adult family members and friends.

Continuing her legacy, Luvie’s great-grandson, Phillip L. Thomas, has taken on the challenge of producing wine on a larger scale, adding his unique twist to the tradition.
